Europe eSIM: one trip, several countries
How to use a travel eSIM in Europe: when a single-country plan is enough, how dual SIM works, and how to stay online on a multi-city itinerary.

Europe trips fail connectivity in a predictable way: you buy a France plan, take the Eurostar, and wonder why London is quiet. Coverage follows the plan, not the continent.
Single country vs several
- Paris only: a France eSIM is the clean choice.
- London only: use a UK eSIM.
- Paris → Amsterdam → Berlin: pick a plan in the Abroad app that lists each country. Do not assume “Europe” from a city name.
Setup that survives trains
Install before you fly. Use the iPhone or Android steps. Keep your home number on for banking SMS. Estimate data with how much data you need abroad — trains plus photos add up faster than café Wi‑Fi trips.
A note on the UK
Treat the UK as its own stop. If your itinerary includes both the EU and the UK, confirm both on the plan details before checkout, or buy two small plans instead of hoping.
Ready to choose? Open Abroad and match the plan’s country list to your tickets — not to a map of “Europe” in your head.
Questions
Sometimes. Multi-country trips are easier with a plan that lists every country you will enter. For a single city, a country plan such as France is simpler.
Not automatically. The UK is a separate destination from EU countries. Check the plan’s coverage list in the Abroad app.
